CASA/GAL 2023 Annual Conference

The CASA/GAL 2023 Annual Conference took place in St. Louis, Missouri.
 
Honorable Judge Leslie Halligan from Missoula won The Honorable David W. Soukup Judge of the Year Award.
 
The Plenary Speakers were David Ambroz, Jessica Pryce and David McIntosh.
 
David Ambroz
Head of Community Engagement (West) Amazon
Author of A Place Called Home, is a national poverty and child welfare expert and advocate. He was recognized by President Obama as an American Champion of Change. 
 
Jessica Pryce
Research Professor, Florida State University
For the past 15 years, Dr. Pryce has been involved in multiple angles of child welfare -- direct practice, teaching, training, policy and research. She has published articles on child welfare-related topics, such as training and education, racial disparity and anti-poverty practices. 
 
David McIntosh
Communication Officer for Schools/Educator at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center
He is a Chicago-born native with more than 25 years of experience as an educator, public speaker and youth development professional. David is passionate about creating compassionate spaces for youth to share their stories and re-image a world with empathy where all lives have equal value.
 
Next year we are going to Atlanta, GA and one lucky advocate will be given the chance to join us! Raffle tickets will be awarded to volunteers for a variety of things for the next several months. Examples include attending 201 trainings, book club, volunteering at CASA held events, etc. The more entries you have the better your chances of winning!
