What is CASA?

Mission

Our mission is to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in court.

Vision

Our vision is to assign a CASA volunteer in every dependent neglect case opened in the 11th Judicial District Court for every child who is removed from his or her home due to allegations of abuse or neglect.

When a child has suffered from abuse or neglect, when their lives have been turned upside down, when they feel they have no one they can count on, they need an advocate. In Flathead County, CASA for Kids recruits, trains and supports everyday citizens to advocate for foster children. The trained advocates are appointed by the court as guardian ad litems and serve the children until they find a safe, permanent home. They are the one consisten adult in the child's life, working to build trust and resiliency.

We are mandated by the 11th Judicial District to serve 100% of the children who are removed from their home. Since 2000, 172 CASA volunteers have advocated for 841 children from Flathead County. Join us in saying, I AM FOR THE CHILD. You CAN make a difference in a child's life. Volunteer. Donate. Spread the word.

"To give a child a CASA volunteer is to give them a voice. To give them a voice is to give them hope, and to give them hope is to give them the world. I believe that with all my heart." -Pamela, former foster child
